Welcome to Age Concern New Forest
Age Concern New Forest is a local, independent, charity established in 1989. We are registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales (registered charity no. 1076585).
We are entirely independent of Age UK Ltd and other local Age Concern or Age UK organisations.
The Charity’s main office is based at Southward House, Beaulieu Road, Southampton, Hampshire SO45 4PT. In addition, we operate a number of local charity shops and use a range of other local facilities to provide services to local older people aged 55+ years, their families and carers in the New Forest Area of Hampshire.
Our aim at Age Concern New Forest is to provide a range of services that meet the aims of our beneficiaries and their expectations on a sustainable basis.

- To encourage older people to take part in suitable activities for the many fit and active older people in the area.
- To provide and encourage social contact and friendship for all older people.
- To help to plan the services that older people want and need. We aim to ensure that local Council and Heath Authority know what older people require.
- To encourage older people to become involved in supporting local projects.
- Reducing isolation
- Supporting older people so that they can remain independent
- Providing practical information and advice to enable older people to make informed choices about their lives.
At Age Concern New Forest we are passionate about ensuring that local older people get the holistic services they need and desire and we strive to create and sustain local partnerships with other organisations in order to:
- Maximise the opportunities to ensure older people can access all they require
- To receive and give support locally for beneficial initiatives
- To share information and best practice thus ensuring that we are delivering the right services in most effective and safe way
Our Charity is governed by a Board of local volunteer Trustees and managed by a Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The CEO is supported by a small team of part-time staff and a large team of volunteers. Age Concern New Forest acknowledges the hard work and dedication of both its staff and wonderful volunteers who all play a major part in the continued success of the charity and without whom we could not provide our services.
Age Concern New Forest receives no government funding and raises its income through its charity shops, contribution payments for some of its charitable activities, donations, legacies, grants and other fundraising initiatives.
