Befriending
There are so many people who live alone: Casual visitors can be rare for many different reasons. Perhaps you know someone who would welcome a friendly face, someone who could visit on a regular basis to share a cup of tea and a chat. Our team of Volunteers visit anyone who is housebound or isolated within their own home. The role of the Befriender is to offer a one-to-one relationship promoting friendship and company. We now offer a telephone Buddy service for those who prefer a phone call to a visit or for anyone on our waiting list. BEFRIENDERS can help to relieve loneliness and and social isolation for a member of your community. Or perhaps you have a couple of hours to spare each week and you would like to volunteer as a Befriender? Please visit our volunteering section |
If you are interested in being matched to a Befriender, or in becoming a Befriender, please contact our Waterside Good Neighbours Co-ordinator Dorothy Haden on 023 8084 3676 or email wgn@ageconcernnewforest.org.uk
